"Glitch Vision" (They Don't See Us)
12"x12" oil & acrylic pain on canvas.
#9 in the #quarantineartseries created while in self-isolation in NYC; Meditating on the continued biased vision of black people held by law enforcement in this country specifically. That day I had been reading about how black people in NYC and other major cities, were not being allowed into stores or were being kicked out of stores for wearing masks/scarves inside of stores, as our government urges everyone to. Our lives are still so disposable that even during a pandemic, we have to expose ourselves just to placate the fears of NOn-POCs.
Original canvas work is not framed. Can be framed by request only for an additional cost.
